About KPM

Kampala Polytechnic Mengo (KPM) is a leading private technical institution in Uganda.

It was established in 1994 with a primary objective of providing hands-on vocational training in various applied and industrial sciences to meet the need for professional manpower resources.

KPM offers a wide range of technical courses to prepare students for work and also further education.

COURSES OFFERED

For admission into any of the diploma courses, the applicant must have completed and attained Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (U.A.C.E) or any advanced certificate in the relevant field or any other equivalent qualification. The courses are available in all the study programmes i.e. the day, evening or weekend programme. The duration for each of these courses is two years (four semesters).

For admission into any of the certificate courses, the applicant must have completed and attained the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or a Junior Technical certificate or any equivalent qualification.

 The Directorate of Industrial training certificate programme (DIT) is open to all irrespective of prior academic qualifications.  

KPM offers a wide range of Short courses ranging from 50,000/= Parkages to 350,000/= Parkages. All courses are locally examined by either the Uganda Business & Technical Examination Board (UBTEB) or Directorate of Industrial training (DIT).

STUDY PROGRAMMES

This programme is run on a two semester basis in each academic year lectures for the programme start at 8:00 am and end at 3:15pm Monday to Friday each week.

This programme is also on a two semester basis each academic year Lectures start at 5:00 pm and end at 9:15pm from Mondays to Fridays each week. On Saturday lectures start at 8:00am and end at 4: 15 Pm.

Weekend programmes are available to all students in Diploma, Higher diploma, and National Certificate levels. Ran on a two-semester basis and lectures are held from Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays full days.
